4/8/25

Wow! I got my butt handed to me on a silver platter on Monday. I was bloated, nauseous all morning. I made it through my marathon of meetings. I cut one meeting short to lay down. A wave of nausea came over me and that was it.

At one point, everything inside my body was fighting to get on the outside. It was a brutal attack. I was being bullied by my intestines. And things were vacating from any place they could find.

At one point I had to stand up quickly to vomit and had a sheering pain in my back. That did NOT feel good. It radiated down my leg. I think I blew out another disc vomiting so hard. It was NOT lady like.

I had periods of weakness and having my vision go dark from low blood pressure. I could feel the wave of unconsciousness trying to call me, but luckily I would lay down and there were no falls. Yay.

The night was horrible. My back was throbbing and I could barely stand. Ethan came in to the bedroom and asked me if I needed a ride to urgent care. “I just want to die alone.” I said dramatically.

I was so tired but couldn’t sleep because my back was screaming in pain.

Today was Ethan’s big cardiology appointment. I told him that I couldn’t go. He effortlessly said “that’s ok. I can do this.” What a change from a few years ago.

It doesn’t sound like a big deal but this is HUGE growth for Ethan and I was so proud of him.

He had to navigate the parking garage. Find where he was supposed to go. Have his echo and then be moved somewhere else to talk to the doctor. While he was there they needed to give him an IV medication to enhance the image. They have never done that before which makes me nervous.

Ethan texted me that was what they were doing. He said he asked about if it was safe for his kidney and liver. Nice work kid! It was. They got the images they needed. Overall things look good.

Ethan’s blood pressure was high. They are switching up his medication’s to see if that helps. Ugh! Medication changes are always tricky. It seems something else goes out of whack, but we are doing it.

Tomorrow I will be on Ethan’s nephrology video visit. I will be doing it from Brockport College. We are going to see Avery and her poster from her externship last summer. Yay Aves!

I struggled through work today. I felt so tired and sore. I also made a doctor’s appointment for myself to get some relief for our trip. Of course this happens right before vacation.
