❤️ 4/18

Ethan was tired today. Probably because he was so active yesterday. Today is another wean of a benzo. The side effects aren’t as significant as when he would wean off of the methadone.

I didn’t anticipate going up and down the stairs so many times yesterday. My calves are so sore. I have been hobbling around like an old lady.

We made it to New Jersey. Ethan will get dialysis at 5:30 am and then we will be on our way back home after that. For good.

This week will be interesting with all the appointments and finding out how life will change with dialysis incorporated into the routine of home living.

It will be an early morning tomorrow. My bright spot is that we are so close to moving forward to home life. Things will get a little more normalish. My other bright spot is that Ethan and I were looking at our pond this morning and counted 27 frogs. Hopefully they will make a dent in the mosquito count.

  1. Glad you made it back there safely. To think after tomorrow you are done there, happy dance!
This week will be busy for both of you as well as adjusting back to somewhat of normalcy. Ethan, make sure you nap if you need to, that goes for Mom too.
    Safe travels back!

  2. Home for good. The most wonderful sentence ever. I know the next chapter still won't be easy, but I'm so glad you get to be home again with Paul and Avery. It was a long time coming. We will all look back on 2020-2021 and shake our heads in disbelief. Keep swimming! xoxo

I'm so happy picturing you all sleeping in your own beds, surrounded by family.
Celebrate all the steps, all the "last days." Last day of a particular drug, last day of dialysis in NJ, etc., and all the new beginnings.
