4/24

Today is Christmas. We had the Christmas music on. We had the smell of our Christmas quiche baking in the oven. Our tree is still up and the lights are twinkling bright.

We always do a scavenger hunts for the kids.  We took the gifts Santa brought and hid them all over the house. It makes it fun for everyone. After our exchanging of the gifts we enjoyed eating the delicious quiche that we all have grown to look forward to on holidays. The burst of flavor of ham, cheese, spinach and egg danced around in our mouths. Yum!

The morning reminded us that no matter when it happens, family time is priceless. We all were thankful Ethan was with us. We even got a special delivery of Terri Ann’s Christmas cookies which were a surprise AND delicious!

We all enjoyed the day in our different ways. Ethan was feeling very tired but was able to say hello to his old friend, his car.  He started the car and had Paul move it out of the barn.

It was nice to work in the garden again. All the dogs had a bath (Penny rolled in something gross and earned all the dogs a bath.). Phineas had a play date. Avery had her rabbit, Theo, out to happily hop along and nibble grass.

It was a nice weekend day that felt the most normal so far. Total bright spot.

  6. Loving these Christmas pics! Hope Santa was good to all of you. Ethan's new sweatshirt is priceless. He's got the best custom designed t-shirts and sweats now. Sounds like the animals are very happy their mama is home. They needed a little special attention, huh? Hope your Sunday is nice and relaxing.

  9. Merry Christmas to you all. What a blessing to have everyone together and be able to celebrate the gift of life. So joyous seeing Ethan smile and know that he’s home in his comfort zone again. Patti, you’re so blessed to be able to see the good in times of adversity. Drove by yesterday while out and about mowing. Almost stopped. But you all need your privacy and time to yourselves. God bless family and the celebration of life!
