Still waiting.

Tick tock. Tick tock. There is a hiss in the room from the oxygen.  I can hear beeping and dinging outside the ICU room that they have me waiting in. But the room is empty. I have had no updates.  We are 4 hours in. No calls. 

I saw his nurse and asked if everything was ok.  I would have expected an update.  As of 12:45 am. He hasn’t even begun to have his surgery. There was some sort of “hold up” getting the heart to him. He is under anesthesia and ready to go.  His new heart is late to it’s own party.  Still waiting.
