Imagine seeing the surgeon come in your room when he is supposed to be in surgery. Um....What a brain on this guy. I really like him. He basically explained that while Ethan was under anesthesia that that his blood pressure was not stable and he went into cardiac arrest and his heart stopped. They initiated CPR and were able to revive him fairly quickly. Because of this, they will in the days coming, monitor his cognitive function and make sure that he didn’t sustain a brain injury.
He also said that the heart is in transit. They are not worried about it’s viability. But because of his cardiac arrest, they started the surgery and removed his heart and put him on by-pass until his heart arrives. The surgeon said they don’t really care about the damage caused to his heart from the cardiac arrest, because they removed it. My kid has no heart. That is so odd and surreal to even have a mental picture of this. His surgeon said he would be letting me know when they get his new heart in.
This is unbelievable. I have no words just prayers.
