🚘 12/3 7:10 am

Ethan had another rough night. He is still struggling. He had a lung X-ray that came back murky. He had  several breathing treatments, EKG, an echo and some pacing on the pacemaker.

He had another X-ray this morning as well as EKG.  They put the brain scan back on him which looks like these dots with tape over them all over his head.  It looks like some sort of Mad Scientist experiment. They did this because they want to make sure he didn’t have another stroke, which so far looks good.

At this point just trying to get into the room is like an obstacle course where you take your life into your own hands to complete.

He has had a lot of suction and they can’t clear out his lungs.  They are likely to do a procedure later called a broncoscopy.

A broncoscopy is when they feed a camera through his nose and down into his lungs to take a peak at why he is still struggling while on ECMO.

He is sedated well. No more hulking his way through sedation and paralysis.

I wasn’t first to the shower today. I got held up talking. I figure I have first so many days I guess it’s time to let someone else be first. I know how good it feels to take the first shower.  Now someone else gets to feel that, which makes me happy.  But I will try again tomorrow. I have a feeling we are here I will have many opportunities to be first again.

  1. Patti, I'm still here with U--reading all your posts---just gasping 4 breath myself over & over!!! It takes INCREDIBLE strength 2 go through all this --as U've both been through more physical hurdles in just a week's time than most people experience in a lifetime!! And the few who actually do r usually old farts not teens! ;) Just wanna say--let yourself cry, scream & rest (whenever u actually get the chance) bc it will help rejuvenate your strength & by taking care of yourself--it will help U even more in dealing with all these MOUNTAINS of stress that u & Ethan have come against. My family is still praying 4 Ethan & U (Avery, Paul) 4 his total healing & God's strength 2 help U both continue forward! Love U, Patti! U r AWESOME & AMAZING, girl!! <3

  2. Hi Patti.
I've been following a long here and it's usually my first instinct to see if there are any updates on Ethan's status. This kid is really something else and I am so proud to say I know the parents that raised him. Just yesterday some posts were put up on FB of times we called "back in the day" at Canton and hanging out at the TG house. If only life could be as easy and carefree as those times. The reality is it's not. I admire your courage and apprecuiate the updates. Next time you order a margarita make it a double and remember we are with you all the way!!
