🙂 12/16 8:50 am

Last night wasn’t quite as restful but not too bad. Ethan was up a few times and was unsettled. His nurse was busting her butt to keep him comfortable. His belly has finally started to cooperate and things are moving.

His floor doctor came in this morning. She was assigned to his case a few weeks ago.  She was so shocked at how good he looks. She then said the last time she saw him, she had herself parked right outside the door and was afraid to leave. We talked about how sick he was at that point and how concerned everyone was. She then looked at his pumps and was happy to see there was less clutter in our room. I told her we could now have a square dance in this room. I immediately felt stupid because the only people that square dance are like 5 th grade students in gym class. What a lost art form.

We are down to 7 pumps. Wow! He is getting some of his medications orally now, through his feeding tube.

All of the medical staff are talking about the big storm. Some have “moved” and are staying with friends close in the city. Some don’t think they will make it into work. Some don’t think they will make it home. I am thankful that I won’t have to deal with that stress as I am going to sit in my window seat and watch the snowflakes blanket the city.

Ethan has another day of sitting up today. He is currently getting his beauty rest with the fan blowing on him. His hair is fluttering in the wind. He looks peaceful.

  1. Let is snow! You guys are snug in your room while visions of sugar plums dance in Ethan's head. He is working hard to get rid of those pumps. Rest is good for both of you. We love you both
